If you plan on visiting a fair few colleges, the entrance fee will start adding up, and you could easily save this money to spend in on one of Moo Moo’s amazing milkshakes instead.
Hide your cameras away for a bit before introducing yourself to the college porter as a prospective applicant. You won’t be charged for visiting the college, and will even have a nice prospectus. To be more convincing, try to ask a couple of questions about the university and the college.
There’s a few little-known colleges and private halls worth a visit. Oriel is particularly nice and the grounds are lovely. Harris Manchester is rather small, but it is very cute, with its little fountain and its lovely garden. Green Templeton has a gorgeous garden and looks fantastic on a sunny day.
Somerville is not that easy to find, but is rather green, and it has a college cat! Pembroke is a bit tricky to get it, but the secondary squads are worth a visit. Worcester is a bit out of the way, but the architecture is stunning. Finally, Holywell street is full of gorgeous houses where you will wish you lived.
And don’t forget to visit the Norrington Room in Blackwell (a bookshop on Broad Street)!
