I saw your answer to that ask and thought I'd put in my two cents. :)

Non-Oxford students/tourists are not allowed to just walk into the Bodleian (or any of the college libraries) and browse or look at books. The Bod does have some organized tours, but since I was a student I never looked into that any further so I don't know what you have to do for that.

You might also be able to quickly tour a couple of the college libraries, as some of the colleges have paid tours for tourists and the tours might stop at the library, but I'm not sure you're allowed to go into the library.

Oxford, obviously, is serious about their scholarly pursuits so it's understandable why they wouldn't want to make a tourist destination out of a place where students are trying to get work done. :)
